Jennifer attended Parsons School of Design in New York, New York where she studied Fine Arts. She attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas where she earned a degree in Creative Writing. Jennifer has interned for Bill Schenk, a professional artist in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Jennifer spent 5 years as a floral designer and wedding coordinator. She now works as a garden columnist for the Lawrence Journal-World and The Kansas City Star. She also has written for Lawrence Magazine, Lawrence Family Magazine, Kansas City Home & Garden Magazine and KC Magazine. She has also written an as-yet unpublished children's book, "It's Good To Be Me."

She resides in Lawrence, Kansas with her husband Dane, son Beck, dog Georgia and cat Sam.
